The expression "Don't worry, be happy" is a well-known message from the Indian spiritual master Avatar Meher Baba. It was widely popularized by the 1988 song of the same name by Bobby McFerrin, who saw a poster of Meher Baba with the quote and was inspired by its simplicity.
The core meaning behind Meher Baba's teaching is that worldly anxieties are temporary distractions from the ultimate, infinite happiness that comes from the love of God, who is within everyone.
